Ramayana and Mahabhabharatha are the two great epics that Hinduism has given to this world. Every aspect of life is mentioned in Ramayana and Mahabharath from Pushpak Viman(Aeroplane made out of flower used by Ravana-Demon), to Bhagavad-Gita(An answer to modern day politics,business,competition,strategy), and to Ramabhana(An arrow used by lord Rama a powerful weapon which use to kill the enemy and will go to another planet and comeback). Many authors have narrated Ramayana and Mahabharata from ages.Kuntikanamata Balakrishna Bhat has tried his level best to narrate these epics in his own way as simple stories. He studied these epics in detail from child hood, watched many Yakshagana, drama and discussed these stories with many scholars for almost 40 years. Then he came out with Sri Krishna Kathamanjari and Sri Ramakathamajaria series of seven volumes. It is written in simple story form with an excellent narration so that people of every age can read and appreciate.Many scholars have given their excellent views on these books.He is still continuing his research on the mythological stories and their importance in our day today life. Sri K M Balakrishna Bhat has won many awards like Kasaragod Gadinadu Sahitya Academy Award, Karnataka Kaladarshini Award.Prominent scholars like Sri Veerendra Heggade of Dharmasthala,Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharaya Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji of Ramachandrapuramata,Sri Jagdguru Shankaracharaya Of Sringeri ,Sri Jagdguru Balagangadharanatha Swamiji of Adichunchanagirimat, Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejavarmat,Professor Doddarange Gowda,Late Sri Puthina,Late Sri SK Ramachandra Rao,Late Sri Sheni Gopala Krishna Bhat,Kumble Sundar Rao and many more from Karnataka have appreciated his contribution to the world of kannada literature.It took alomst seven to eight years to write, print and publish. All this was possible because of Sri Vidwan S B Khandige who dedicated almost a decade in publishing, marketing these books. Now KuntikanaMata Subrahmanya Kumar, elder son of K M Balakrishna Bhat is in the process of translating these books into English in UK so that it can reach more readers globally. It is also very important for all of us to understand the themes and morals of these epics and pass it on to our next generation. |
